Challenge: Peer to Peer networking with different
operating systems and weak virus protection and backup procedures.
Solution: Installed and configured a Microsoft Small Business
Server running on Windows 2000 platform. All new workstations
are running Windows 2000 Professional. APIS equalized the enterprise
and standardized on Windows 2000. All workstations interface
with the server for email, sharing of files and company resources.
APIS is the Administrator of all systems and workstations. APIS
provides remote technical support and proactive services. When
a user calls for support, we can tap into the server and than
to the remote workstation to see exactly what the user is reporting
and solve the issue on the spot. The users require interaction
to solve an issue quickly without having to wait in a queue on
the phone or a long response time for on-site service. With prepaid
blocks of support time for this client, APIS has been able to
increase service response times and give the support options
they require.
