Scheichet & Davis
Challenge: Scheichet & Davis,
P.C. had very old DOS based computers when we took over their
Information Technology systems in 1994.
Solution: In 1995 APIS took Scheichet & Davis into the Windows
environment and also implemented a Client/Server infrastructure
to control Document management file sharing and network resources.
On January 1st, 2000, APIS installed a Microsoft Small Business
Server which managed all the back office operations. APIS provided
the on-site installation, configuration of the server and all
related workstations. APIS continues to support Scheichet & Davis
as their business grows and modifications are necessary.
In 2003, APIS replaced the old NT 4.0 Server running Microsoft
Small Business Server 4.5 with a new Windows 2000 server running
Microsoft Small Business Server 2000. We also installed another
Server dedicated to remote services. The terminal server allows
users to see their complete desktop from any computer connected
to the internet outside the office. User now have access to
mission critical information from were ever they are and can
make up
to the minute discussions based on real time data. No matter
if the Partners of Scheichet & Davis are at home, in court
or away on a trip, they can readily see and participate with
the current business agenda in the office.
With the new Terminal Server, APIS now provides an Administration
contract that keeps the server up to date remotely for the client.
Being proactive on issues related to security and virus threats
is important to keeping a business running smoothly. APIS provides
these services to the clients so they do not have to worry about
these issues and can focus on their core services instead.
